Children’s Booker Prize

The Children’s Booker Prize will be awarded annually from 2027 and is supported by the AKO Foundation. The prize will celebrate the best contemporary fiction for children aged 8 to 12 years. To be eligible, a book must have been written or translated into English and be published in the UK and/or Ireland. For the inaugural prize, the judging panel will be chaired by author and Waterstones Children’s Laureate, Frank Cottrell-Boyce; the panel will also include 3 child judges aged between 8 and 12 years old.
